Every trip to Agamon Hula at dawn offers a completely new landscape – shifting in light, weather, and the sheer volume of wildlife. Entering the reserve aboard the early “Sunrise Wagon” while it is still pitch black, you sit silently at eye level with the roosting cranes as the world slowly wakes up.
This photograph captures that fleeting threshold between night and day, taken at the precise moment when the first sun rays strike, yet dawn has not fully broken. Below, a fiery streak of gold glows in the mirror-like water; above, cool twilight tones envelop the hills. As the valley brightens, the stillness breaks: while a few birds remain wading in the shallows, the first flocks lift off from the lake, gathering into the morning air toward the fields.
